An Indonesian delegation, led by the Vice Speaker of the Indonesian Parliament visited ÍSOR on Wednesday, August 9th. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with Iceland's experience in geothermal energy utilization.
Among the 34 delegation members were members of the Indonesian Parliament, H.E. ambassador of Indonesia in Oslo, parliamentary media, and directors/high rank officials from various state owned enterprises from the energy sector in Indonesia.
At ÍSOR the delegates were welcomed by Ólafur G. Flóvenz, Chief Executive Officer and Guðni Axelsson, Director of Research and Training who introduced ÍSOR and its international geothermal experience. Daði Þorbjörnsson, senior geologist introduced phases of geothermal utilisation development of high- and low temperature reservoirs. Finally, Sigurður St. Arnalds, introduced the Icelandic engineering companies Mannvit and Verkís and their experience in Iceland and abroad.
As part of the tour, the delegates will also visit HS Orka, the Icelandic Parliament, United Nations University and other energy companies.
